Rising multi-faceted artist Shaboozey is building a world of his own, carving a distinct lane in contemporary Country music. Born to parents of Nigerian descent and raised in the small town of Woodbridge, VA, Shaboozey grew up on an eclectic mix of music encompassing everything from Country and Blues to classic hip-hop and R&B. A true crossover artist, he set the stage for the “Modern Cowboy” takeover in 2024. Shaboozey’s epic run began in October 2023 with the release of “Let It Burn” which quickly engaged audiences and caught the attention of Beyoncé. The single organically led to Shaboozey being featured on Beyonceì’s culture shifting album COWBOY CARTER—the only artist with multiple appearances on the project. Shaboozey’s latest body of work, the critically acclaimed Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200 and was praised by NPR for being “the future of country music.” The album’s smash single “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” made history as Shaboozey became the first Black male artist to reach the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Hot Country Charts for multiple weeks. He also became the first artist in history to reach the top of the charts at 4 radio formats - Country, Top 40, Rhythm and Hot Adult Contemporary. The song is now the most consumed song of 2024 according to Luminate data, 4X RIAA-certified platinum, launched him to mainstream stardom and has become the “song of the summer” as described by Rolling Stone. With the meteoric rise of “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey and Beyonceì became the first Black artists to score back-to-back leaders in the Billboard Hot Country Songs’ 66-year history. True to his Virginia roots, Shaboozey aims to continue the region’s long-standing tradition of prolific creativity, this time by expanding the scope of contemporary country and introducing the sound to a global audience. In addition to his record breaking run on the charts, Shaboozey had standout performances on the Kelly Clarkson Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and was the first Country Artist to perform at the BET Awards in 2024. Shaboozey surprised audiences at Stagecoach and Capital’s Summertime Ball, and shut down Nashville with his performance at the 2024 CMA Fest. In the Fall, Shaboozey will embark on his SOLD OUT headline tour and has dates with Jelly Roll across America.

GRADING
GRADING
Yellow Racket assigns condition based on the Goldmine Standard for grading records.
New (N) (Not typically included in the Goldmine Standard)
New records are purchased directly from the label, distributor, or registered wholesaler. Records are still sealed. Jackets may have slight shelf wear, but media has never been played.
Mint (M)
Still sealed. Never played. No observable flaws. Items have been purchased secondhand.
Near Mint (NM)
A Near Mint (NM) record will play perfectly, with no imperfections during playback. The record should show no obvious signs of wear.
The cover (and any additional packaging) has no creases, folds, seam splits, cut-out holes, or other noticeable defects.
Very Good Plus (VG+)
A Very Good Plus (VG+) record will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Defects should be more of a cosmetic nature, not affecting the actual playback as a whole. Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches.
The disc and LP cover may have slight signs of wear, and may be gently marred by spindle marks, paper scuffs, wrinkled corners, etc.
Very Good (VG)
Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident, but will not overpower the music. Disc may have light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.
Labels, jackets, and inserts will have visible cosmetic flaws such as wrinkles, cut-outs, slight splitting, etc. However, it will usually have less than a dozen minor flaws.
Good (G)
A record in Good condition can be played through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise, scratches, and visible groove wear. A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear, or other defects will be present.
While the record will be playable without skipping, noticeable surface noise and "ticks" will almost certainly accompany the playback.
Poor (P), Fair (F)
The record may be cracked, badly warped, or won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve may be water damaged, split, or heavily marred by wear and writing.
